41st Annual Pinellas County Senior Games
The 2020 Good Life Games are scheduled from late February through early April with additional Golf and Cycling Events in November. Good Life Games, Inc. is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) registered Florida CH22531 charitable organization that promotes healthy lifestyles and encourages adults 50 and older to enhance the value and vitality of their lives through athletic and recreational competition, social events, and volunteerism. It is a countywide public/private partnership of cities, centers, organizations, clubs, media, corporate sponsors, and volunteers joined together physically and financially to present the events.
The 2020 Good Life Games of Pinellas County is sanctioned by the State of Florida to qualify the top 5 competitors (individuals or teams) to participate in the Florida State Senior Games held in December in Clearwater. The National Senior Games are held every two years. The next National Senior Games will be in 2021 in Greater Ft. Lauderdale, for the 2020 State Qualifiers. Check NSGA.Org for updates.
Who is eligible? Anyone age 50 or older by 12-31-2020, including non-Florida residents is eligible to participate in the Good Life Games. Age groups for most events are in five-year increments, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90-94 and 95+. Some of the events will feature ten–year age-group competition. Some events allow playing down in age. Doubles and team events are determined by the age of the younger/est partner/player/teammate. Most events have separate divisions for Men and Women.
PROFESSIONAL ATHLETES are not eligible to compete in the sport in which they received money or other significant compensation, as a primary source of income, within the last 20 years. Persons who compete in a sport in which minor amounts of money are given are not deemed professionals. An individual whose primary activity is teaching a sport, but occasionally plays for a minor amount of money is also not considered a professional. Anyone may participate in a sport in which he/she has not competed professionally.
Registration Policy. Individual and Team Registration forms must be completed with the Waiver signed and POSTMARKED 2 weeks prior to the date of your first event. You must sign up for ALL events at that time. Your Doubles Partner’s name must be listed on your registration form and he/she must register individually. How many events within any category may I register? You may enter as many events within each category as you wish, except for Swimming where only 6 events are permitted. In Cycling, you may enter only one of the three classes within the 15 K Time Trials and only one of the 25 K or 55 K Road Races.
Event Check-in. Arrive at your event prepared to show proper identification to verify your age. Any player who is unable to produce the required credentials may be unable to compete until he/she can produce them. Medical-Health Insurance is the responsibility of each participant. Every participant should have proof of insurance. All Participants will receive a T-Shirt and other pertinent information when they check-in for their first event.
General Rules. The Event Director reserves the right to alter the listed format as needed for greater efficiency of the Events. It is the responsibility of the participant to familiarize him/herself with the rules and requirements of The Good Life Games events.
